The Deepwater BP oil spill is being considered one of the greatest man-made environmental disasters ever to hit the shores of the United States

Anyone looking to relax on the sand and soak up some sun will find that the beaches remain pleasant. Though a few tar balls have washed up on area beaches, swimming is still permitted; these warm waters are, after all, a huge draw to the area.
