Details About The Phone Described As The SciPhone W995
I sometimes get questions about or requests to review the "SciPhone W995." As I know that sellers will often combine the names of two popular clones to get more views to their listings or sites, I often ask for clarification as to the features that the person is looking for. Most people who ask about such a phone are looking at a newer 3.2 inch quad band clone with Wi-Fi and java, which also accommodates at least 16 GB of memory.
The thing is, the SciPhone 68 (and the subsequent plus model) does not encompass these features. This term has begun to be used for any shake and tilt quad band clone. And, much of the time, the W995 is a term that is being used for what is most commonly known as the CECT i9+++. I know it's confusing. So, in the following article, I'll go over what features that the most popular SciPhone has and also discuss what's found on the W995 (or what many know as the i9+++) to help you determine the phone that you really want.
The SciPhone: The most popular model in this category is the i68 or the later + model. But neither of these typically included Wi-Fi. There is a 3G version of the i68+ that does have hot spots, but it's a slider and doesn't look like a traditional iClone. The thing that people most loved about the traditional SciPhones was their firmware. I think that's why they are still so popular today. The i9+++ has similar firmware and you can always check out the latest versions of the i68 to see if this is what you are looking for.
The W995 (Which Is Often Sold As The i9+++:) Folks who are looking for a newer version of a quad band iClone with dual sim slots, java, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, additional menus and icons, and shake and tilt often end up with the i9+++ because it's one of the newer phones which has all of these features in a sleeker phone. Plus, it has the popular i9 / sci firmware as well. The fact that Wi-Fi is included means that the phone is a bit heavier, but there's really not any way around that and it's still a light weight and sleek phone as compared to some of the earlier models. Additionally, it can accommodate as much as 32GB of memory.
Which phone you are really looking for often means deciding if you want the newest clone with Wi-Fi or if you are really want the original sci firmware with the light weight and sleek lines of a phone without hot spots. I suspect that most people who tell me that they want information on the "SciPhone W995" are really looking for the 9+++, but some of them are really wanting the traditional i68 or one of it's later variations. If Wi-Fi and much more memory is something that you really want, you'll probably be happier with the three plus.
