You will find two basic types of steering system in your car, which are similar to that of other motor vehicles. Worm gear box and rack and pinion are the types of steering systems, which are formed by the collection of several steering products. If you want to know about the oldest systems among the two, then you will come to know about the name of rack and pinion. This system is still being used today. You will find a flat rack gear inside the rack body. And the purpose of this steering product is to in linear direction that is basically driven and controlled by circular gear called pinion.

Steering wheel is one of the most important steering products, which is connected and attached with pinion gear. Inner tie rod end is covered by rubber bellow and with it the rack gear is also connected. Internal tire rod end is attached with external tire rod end. Both these rod ends are able to move in different types of linear directions and then the tire rod is attached with the wheel spindle.

There are two steering products of worm gear box steering system, which are almost similar to the rack and pinion steering system. The most important and imperative part is known as worm gear. Firstly, you will see that it is connected to pitman arm then to center link and finally it is connected to the tire rod ends. The steering system of a car can be manual or automatic. If your car has a power steering system, then it will be using hydraulic pump, which is mounted and fixed on the engine. The fluid in the automatic system is kept under pressure until the cars wheels are turned. There are certain problems with the steering products of power steering system and leakage of the fluid is the most common problem. Such issues can easily be sorted out.
