Detective Tom Saccenti awarded the Medal of Courage
Detective Saccenti asked one of the church members to contact an ambulance as he rushed to the scene
. Upon arrival Detective Saccenti found that the motorcyclist was not breathing. He began to administer emergency first aid and performed rescue breathing for the injured man. While doing this the motorcyclist began to breathe again just as the emergency medical technicians arrived. Detective Saccenti states, "This was a team effort, without the quick action of the church members in calling 911 and relaying the needed information clearly to the dispatcher we could have lost vital minutes". The motorcyclist has been transported to Toledo and is in the ICU unit.
