, 2006 for the first time. The drama revolves around Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter pattern analyst for Miami Metro Police Department who is also portrayed as a serial killer. The first season was set in Miami and was a pick from novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter. James Manos was the writer for first episode. In February 2008, the intervened season was renewed again and began to air on CBS. The series has managed to grab appreciation both from viewers and critics. That is the reason drama renewed for next seasons. All the seasons were immensely popular. The finale episode of season 4 broadcasted on December 13, 2009 to a record breaking audience. This record made the episode win the tag of most watched original series episode ever. Michael C Hall has bagged number of awards for playing Dexter. On November 18, 2011 an announcement was made that Dexter would broadcast two more seasons. Season seven had debuted on September 30, 2012 and grabbed the attention of its viewers to the most. The producer of the show Sara Collection announced eighth season would be the last season and the show will end after this.

Though the reception varied with the seasons but almost the feedbacks for Dexter have been positive. Every season on an average scored above 65 out of 100 from all news channels and sites. The lead was nominated in 2006 for a Golden Globe Award in the Best Actor category for brilliantly playing Dexter character. In 2010, the same happened. But this time he won the award following the nomination. The drama was nominated for an Emmy award in the category of Outstanding Drama Series for its second season. In 2008, it won a Scream award for Best TV show. All these nominations and awards confirm the popularity of the show.

After completing six seasons successfully, presently season seven is going on. The first episode commence with Debra witnessing her brother killing Travis Marshall. She tries hard to save Dexter and cover up their involvement with the murder. Miami Metro after getting information about the victim sets out to excavate new evidence which could help in solving the case. Debra continues her attempt to cure Dexter and get him get rid of his killing ways. But Louis, enemy of Dexter keeps on troubling him. LaGuerta, seeks help of Batista to re-open the case. Debra is made the target and to save his sister, Dexter plans a game of cat and mouse. Other way, Ukrainian mob continues to seek revenge from Dexter.

The recent fifth episode Swim Deep was broadcasted on 28 October, 2012. Dexter attempts to uncover the secret of murder on his boat. Now the actual battle between Dexter and Ukraine mob boss Isaac has begun. Two murderous minds are trying to defeat each other. Let us see who makes it and whether Debra would be able to save his brother or not.
