Dht Blockers A Miracle Cure For Hair Loss? Find Out More.

Are you suffering from frontal hair loss? Do you have a receding hair line

? Help is available, but it is not the quick fix advertised on TV or the internet.

The reason you are losing your hair is probably the same reason 95% of all men lose their hair: genetics. As we age, our bodies are programmed to start producing more of a particular enzyme called DHT (dihydrotestosterone). DHT gradually shrinks hair follicles, and eventually causes them to stop growing. It's a natural process that begins in most men in their late 20s to early 40s, but sometimes starts as early as puberty.

If you reduce the amount of DHT in your body, hair loss can be stopped, and in many cases hair will start to regrow. To lower DHT you must use a DHT blocker. DHT is made when testosterone interacts with an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. A DHT blocker acts like a cap on testosterone; this keeps it from mixing with the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme. Several DHT blockers are available, but you should stick to the ones that have been proven to work: finasteride, minoxidil, and saw palmetto.

The most effective DHT blocker is finasteride, commonly sold as Propecia in the United States. It works in 90% of all men, with few side effects. It is taken once a day in pill form, and requires a doctor's prescription. For most people, the major downside is cost. Insurance companies do not cover the price of Propecia, so users are required to pay out of pocket (about $250 for a 90-day supply).

The second most effective DHT blocker is minoxidil, commonly sold as Rogaine. It works in 85% of all men, and unlike Propecia, is applied topically to your head twice a day. It has no known side effects, is relatively inexpensive, and can be purchased at most major stores (about $20 per month).

The third most effective DHT blocker is saw palmetto. It works in about 60% of all men, so it is not as effective as finasteride or minoxidil, but it is all natural. It is taken once a day in pill form, and can be purchased for about $30 per month.

The key to treating your hair loss with a DHT blocker is time. Just like you went bald gradually, your hair loss will stop, and will regrow gradually. Use the products consistently for at least 6 months (12 months recommended) before expecting to see results.
