The sequel of game Diablo is the Diablo 2. This is the dark fantasy themed action role game of dungeon roaming styled game full of gash and slash. Blizzard North had developed this game and has been released for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh OS 2000. For its success many factors contribute together to make Diablo 2 so popular. This game provides you various options to play; so provides you an addictive theme of hack and slash and free access to Battle.net. Single player or multiplayer both can be played through LAN or multi-player via Battle.net.

The new version of Diablo II, Lord of Destruction was released in 2001 and this game gets the popularity and loved by every one till another sequel Diablo III had been announced in June 2008. But still this game is popular among young fans. The role of a hero is played by the player and goes on fighting monsters while he traverses through dungeons and land. The game includes the four acts and each follows a predetermined path. The objective is to destroy the boss monster and after killing the boss monster the player is selected for the next level. The interesting game Diablo 2 is full of thrill of real time action with sophisticated weapons and powers.

You can select the character from the list of five to play the game. They are Amazon, Necromancer, Sorceress, Paladin and Barbarian. Every character has its own strengths and weaknesses along with set of skills to choose from to fight the monsters. In addition to four acts the player has to complete three sequential difficulty levels; these are Normal, Nightmare and Hell. A player has to complete Normal level first and after winning then proceed to Nightmare and consequently to Hell. As the level increases the difficulty comes with greater challenge. The monsters become more dangerous as the level increases. The player has to develop a hardcore character to slain them. Some of the aspects that make Diablo 2 the best out of all the rest include:

1. When you are assuming as the hero, the people in the game worry for your safety giving you a sense of how dangerous the tasks ahead are going to be.

2. Due to its great sounds and music it is just like the large movie blockbusters, the music gets you into the mood. The voice of the characters provides great depth.

3. Memorable characters and bosses such the Arch Angel Tyrial and the wise Decard Can give familiarity as they guide you through sanctuary to the very end of the game.

4. The maps generated randomly that never give you the same experience twice no matter how many times you play, with entrances and exits different every time it always feels like you are playing that map again for the first time adding huge replay value.

5. Weapons and items come in magic, unique, set and socketed form. Magic items are given stats randomly on dropping and therefore will very rarely have the same stats creating a lot of variety in item stats and hence character uniqueness.

6. The game is of hack n slash nature and therefore provides a more interactive feel. There is nothing like the sound of demons screaming and dropping to the floor as you smash your way thorough a swarming hoard.

7. The whole look whether Artwork or animation is amazing and gives you the sense of a world being taken over by darkness, the blood splattered dungeons and detailed monsters that explode and splatter across the floor on death all add to a truly satisfying game.
