If there are fans running, a stereo or television you may have issues with reception as well. Consider moving those items or the modem so that they are away from one another.

These are typically of the software nature and claim to reconfigure your settings on you connection to optimize the speeds available, thus making them go faster. The cost for these products varies and the reviews are mixed. Some claim that they see no difference at all while others believe their connection is much faster. While dialup ISP use is less and less the normal way of life for many, there are still those who are using this as their major form of connection to the internet. Deciding which service to use is a matter of choice based on usage and location, not to mention budget. The beauty of dialup is the low and sometimes free cost.
