Diamond Ranch Academy Providing Many Kinds Of Therapy And Activities

Being a teenager can bring a lot of trials and be a very difficult time

. For some young people it can be a massive change that faces them with many challenges. Diamond Ranch Academy has been especially set up to help teenagers through the difficult challenges that they face. It provides an alternative to other places that might not be as therapeutic or catered towards younger people.

In a safe and nurturing environment, young people will grow in confidence and try out new skills. Staff encourage young people to learn and develop in a way that they might not otherwise in different environments. All activities that are participated in help self confidence and awareness.

From the time a person first starts at the centre to the moment they leave they will experience many new challenges. The academy has been described as a journey that begins the moment that a student first arrives at the ranch. Young people will get to try new experiences that they would not have been able to in other places. They will learn new skills and be encouraged to develop creativity.

When a teenager is growing up they sometimes need more help than others. Every individual experiences things differently and therefore requires different care. They might need extra support with learning or have other learning disabilities. Professional staff members have different experience of dealing with specialised problems. A member of staff will be assigned to certain students depending on the student's needs.

A teenagers behaviour might be particular challenging and so they would receive activities to help their behaviour improve. An individual might be struggling with anxiety problems or other mental illness. Occasionally a teenager will reach out for drugs because they feel that they help them get through the day. Often drugs are used as a way to escape the difficulties of life. Substance abuse programs run frequently from the centre to help those addicted to drugs or alcohol.

All staff are professionally trained to a high standard. Individual staff members have a duty to continue their learning whilst meeting educational and training criteria. If staff do not meet certain educational and training criteria then they could lose their license and be required to leave the ranch. Members of staff are specially selected based on their ability to carry out a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Individuals can always access therapeutic sessions. Students have a choice of attending sessions designed for individuals, families or groups with other students. As the student starts to show progress then their care treatment might change accordingly. Care plans are written based on the needs of the individual. Many students make friends and staff encourage positive relationships that promote growth.

If a student is facing substance abuse then they will follow a 12 step program. Meetings will involve both individual and group support. 12 step programs take place on a weekly basis where substance abuse will be dealt with by an assigned therapist. Through sharing with others, listening to other peoples problems and talking about their own then an individual can find peace.
