Did Your Driver Pass The D.o.t. Driver Safety Program, You Want To Know You Can Trust Your Packages?
From the beginning of time, companies have always worried about safety
. After all, the courier company is the one responsible when a driver has an accident. They are responsible for the driver and any injuries, for the truck and its drivability and safety issues, the packages and their correct delivery, and the merchandise within the packages. Paramount to the courier company will be first the customer. Keeping the packages safe and intact, with no damage to the goods and products within the cartons would be the first priority to the courier company. After all, if the packages and merchandise are not safe with the driver, who would trust the courier company?
However, just as important would be the driver safety. It does no good to have a million packages to deliver on Christmas, but no drivers to move the trucks. So the safety and education of the driver would be a very important issue for the courier company. You wouldn't let your child take a $50,000 truck onto the road without some course work on how to drive and what the important safety issues are, would you?
Distribution logistics doesn't let that happen either. It just so happens that the Department of Transportation mandated driver safety program is the best safety program and guideline a courier could use to learn the rules of the road. So yes, the courier drivers definitely participate in the D.O.T. regular driver safety program. It is good education for the drivers and it is good assurance for the customers that the drivers are well informed about road safety. Most importantly, it keeps the roads safe for all drivers when the courier drivers are educated, as the courier drivers are on the road for twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.
Courier companies want the safest road conditions for their drivers and their trucks. They want to know they have done everything possible to ensure the packages are delivered intact and in pristine condition when they arrive at the recipient. They also want to know the truck and driver are in perfect condition. The best way to assure these prime conditions is to require their drivers pass the stringent requirements of the Department of Transportation and their required driver course that is mandated. Distribution logistics guarantees the safety of the packages, the truck, and the driver on the road and in traffic today. Safety matters.
