Diesel Engine
Diesel oil is the one at the local gas station with the green pump .
. right? Just kidding; I know which one it is. Anyway, if you didnt know already, the basic definition of a Diesel Engine is an Internal Combustion Engine that just so happens to use the heat of compression to start & pretty much ignite the ignition to burn the fuel. The fuel is then inserted into the Combustion Chamber during the last & final stage of compression. Pretty baffling & bewildering; right? Regardless of if its a regular Diesel Engine or a Rebuilt Car that has a new Diesel Engine in it, it all pretty much works the same way.
The Diesel Engine was first created & invented by Rudolf Diesel, a very intelligent German Engineer. The actual Diesel Cycle was also invented by Rudolf Diesel & consisted of having the highest thermal productivity than your basic internal or external combustion engine since it had a really high compression ratio.
Diesel Engines are produced & manufactured in two ways : Two Stroke & Four Stroke versions. Two Stroke engines complete the thermodynamic cycle in two quick movements while the Four Stroke completes it in four; so I guess you can say that its all in the name. They were first known as replacements for the original engines in those old Steam Engines & ever since 1910, they have been placed in Submarines & big ships! When 2007 rolled around, thats when European Manufacturers started putting Diesel Engines into all of their new car sales.
Now lets get down to how it works: If you have a true Diesel Engine, you probably know that only air is originally introduced to the Combustion Chamber. After this, the air is compressed with a compression thats usually anywhere between 15:1 & 22:1. When the Compression stroke reaches the top, the fuel is then injected straight into the compressed air in the Combustion Chamber of the Diesel Engine. The fuel injector makes sure that fuel is taken apart into small droplets & also checks if the fuel is distributed evenly throughout the Diesel Engine. After this, the heat of the compressed air steams fuel from the surface of the small droplets & the vapor is ignited by the heat coming from the compressed air in the Combustion Chamber. The droplets keep vaporizing until all of the fuel in the droplets have been burned. I think theres more to it, but thats just the basic way of how most Diesel Engines work.
The Diesel Engine burns way less fuel than your ordinary gas-running engine; gasoline engines usually are 25% efficient while Diesel Engines are able to convert more than 30% of the fuel power into mechanical energy. Since theyre not built with a high-tension electrical system that you have look for & care for constantly, they are highly reliable & adapt easily to wettish environments. Since they really dont have any coils, spark plug wires, & things like that, this gets rid of radio frequency emissions that can come between navigation & communication paraphernalia; which just so happens to be very important in Marine & Aircraft stuff. I think the best thing about Diesel Engines is that they last about twice as long as your regular petrol engine because of the intensified strength of the parts used in a Diesel Engine.
So I guess you can say that a Diesel Engine is better than the typical one we have in our cars .. right? If you need help finding that repaired Diesel Engine , visit us at Junk-Yard-Bids.com & we'll be sure to help you find it.
