Difference Between Garmin 760 And 265wt

The Garmin 760 and the 265wt has their own distinctive features

, but their cost is more or less similar. Many citizens are fulfilled with the novel nuvi 265wt, but the Garmin 760 has some special components such as advanced GPS which makes it more fit to use. When Nuvi 760 was released in market, it cost around $600, at the present date its cost has come down to $230 which is very much close to the cost of nuvi 265wt.

To get a better preview, the first aspect can be dealt with that of the physical features of both the devices. The Garmin nuvi 760 and Garmin nuvi 265wt are mostly similar in their appearance. Both have the 4.3 inch LCD screen with the same resolution and brightness. But the only difference is that the former has a slightest advantage over the latter as its features are more advanced, with chrome color band around the centre of the device.

Both the devices has one more thing in common that is the SD memory card slot which is used to upload pictures, maps, etc, but the other features which the nuvi 760 has is that it contains a headphone audio jack that can be attached to the car's stereo system.

The main characteristic of the Garmin 760 which is not present in the 265wt model is that it has an external antenna connector on the low-right back of the unit. This antenna will not be used by many people as it is not necessary, but in case of location that doesn't have a clear lane to sky then one should mount the GPS on the semi truck etc.

The second feature of the two devices is that, the nuvi 760 includes connector at the base of the unit that slides into the windshield mount dock through which it obtains the power. You can put this device into the windshield mount during docking and un-docking and the GPS will be automatically powered and would be ready to navigate. 265wt model is not powered by the windshield mount dock but it has to be connected to the power cable present at the back of the GPS whenever one wants to remove the instrument from the car. The docking and un-docking facility in 760 is better than in 265wt. Thus the 760 is more suitable than the 265wt.

Nuvi 760 wt consists of the docking cradle. This element not only provides power but also consist of a microphone jack to connect exterior microphone for better hands-free speakerphone performance.

The main advantage of the Garmin 265wt than the Nuvi 760 is that, both these device has an Fm traffic antenna which is present inside the power adapter. The only difference is the former has a free lifetime traffic service whereas the latter has the service only for 3 months after which the user must again purchase the traffic service. The 265wt has a modernized map screen which shows the distance, direction and the current speed. They show more map area when compared to that of nuvi 760.

The Nuvi 265wt shows a turn arrow in the display, which makes the driver to turn easily in the lane. This feature is not much advanced in nuvi 760. Both the device nuvi 265 wt and nuvi 760 wt receives traffic alert message, which tells you the details of traffic jamming in your route. Though the image varies, their purposes are similar in both the units.

A routing feature is present in the nuvi 760 which supports multiple destination routing, and builds and saves a trip that has many stops. The 265wt doesn't have this option.

An internal FM transmitter is present in the Garmin 760 which is not available in the Garmin 265wt.To conclude, the Garmin nuvi 760 is a better device when compared to that of Garmin Nuvi 265wt.
