Difference between rich and poor is that the poor don't get the opportunity : Rahul Gandhi

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while addressing a rally in Vijayawada said his party has been running government in Andhra Pradesh and Centre for last five years and it has fulfilled all the promises. He said his party had promised that if it came to power it would work for the Poor, Dalits, Tribals and common man and it has done everything possible in this direction.Congress General Secretary further said that it is the basic difference between Congress Party and the Opposition that Congress thinks of development along with poor people, Dalits and Backwards and the opposition believes that India can move forward leaving them behind.

Mentioning the works done by UPA government in last five years, Mr. Gandhi said his party had developed the largest scheme for the poor people of India. He said the UPA launched the largest employment guarantee scheme which ensured hundred days employment for all. Congress General Secretary said that his party pushed through the Right to information Bill.

Congress believes in the blood and sweat of farmers who labour hard to feed the country. Keeping this in view, UPA government waived Rs 60, 0000 crore of farm loans. This was the largest loan waiving scheme till date.

Attacking the opposition in Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Gandhi said that the opposition in the state is criticizing the development of the agriculture sector but the fact is that Congress believes in the poor people of India. He said that the only difference between the rich and the poor is that the poor don't get the opportunity.

Congress General Secretary said that it has been the ideology of the Congress for last 60 years to help the poor and it always tried to provide opportunity to them. He further said that opposition in Andhra Pradesh criticizes Congress but common man in the state are happy with the irrigation, insurance and microfinance programmes of the government.

He appealed people to vote for congress which works for the dignity of poor and server them in the state and the centre.
