Most school systems are incredibly underfunded

, making it difficult for students and the teachers to receive all the necessary equipment and items for projects and assignments in class work. This is why external methods of bringing in money to the school are essential to not only improve the longevity of the school but also improve the learning standards of the children. Thankfully, there is any number of fundraising ideas for schools individuals and groups can take advantage of, all of which leads to additional funds for the system.

Box Tops

Box Tops is an easy way to bring in more money to the school, without a lot of work. In fact, money outside of what parents and neighbours already spend is not necessary. Many products include a Box Top for Education on the top of the package. This ranges from cereal boxes to cartons of crackers and a variety of other items purchased at the grocery store. Each Box Top brings in a small amount to the school when returned. In order to make this beneficial, all parents of students must collect these Box Tops, and even have relatives or neighbours collect the tops also. It doesn't take a considerable amount of work, and knowing the tops go to help fund education makes it all worth wild (especially for those who are not able to donate money in the first place). The Box Tops are then collected and given to the school, which sends them back to the manufacturer. Once the manufacturer receives the tops, the particular school is mailed a check, all with limited expenses occurred by the parents.

Carnival

Throwing a fund raising event doesn't have to be boring. Yes, there are fundraising ideas for schools in which cookies or other baked goods are sold, but honestly, only the parents of schools participate, and usually the total amount of money brought into the school is not considerable. A carnival, on the other hand, is something completely different. Now, it doesn't need to have an assortment of rides, but every classroom is able to put on their own 'game.' This might be a ring toss game in which a contestant tries to toss a plastic ring around a bottle of soda, or the classic cake walk game, where each contestant is standing on a number platform with a cake, and if their specific number is called, they win the cake. Carnival tickets are sold at the front of the school, and parents can help donate the goods for the game their particular child's classroom is putting on. This is a great way to get parents involved, not to mention bring in money to the school and have fun doing it.
