It is very important to realize that admitting or recognizing the grief promotes its healing process
. Grief is in reality a normal and the natural response to a loss. It happens when there is loss of a person or someone who is especially close to your heart.
It is really important to mention that stages of loss do exist but they usually don't represent any set way to respond to your loss. Instead, these stages of grief bring out wide array of responses which arise when a person begins to realize as to how this loss is affecting him.
It is a fact that support as well as time assist in the process of grieving, likewise welcoming the chance to mourn properly.
1. Numbness, Shock and denial-Being numb is a natural reaction to a sudden loss and must not be mistaken for apathy or any lack of care. This actually prevents a person from going through the intensity of loss.
2. Bargaining-At this stage, the grief is capable of providing an insight into a person's intensity of loss. If this is not addressed properly a deep sense of regret may surface and could get in the way of the process of healing.
3. Depression-It should be experienced for starting the recovery process and reorganization of one's life. In this phase some emotions may surface which could promote loneliness, isolation or self pity.
4. Anger-The emotions of resentment could surface from the feeling of abandonment occurring in case of tragedy or death. As person admits to the anger, a feeling of remorse could surface due to depression of these negative emotions.
5. The final stage of Acceptance-This whole grieving process assists a person. Time affords an opportunity to a person to help resolve the emotions which arise. The healing process starts taking place when loss gets integrated in the person's life experiences.
