A few days ago a colleague shared with me his experience of constructing his
wood sheds. He informed me about different styles of sheds that are available in the market. One can choose the style as per ones taste and requirements. Here, I am going to elaborate on some shed styles for you.
Ranch Style Shed
It is the simplest style of shed with square floor plan that is suitable for storage purposes. It is preferred due to its easy functioning and great storage capacity. It has a door to facilitate access in to the shed and windows for ventilation. Its roof has a slope that allows water to flow down. Moreover, its wonderful eaves allow water to fall away from shed walls. Thus the walls are saved from water during rain.
Gambrel Style Shed
Gambrel shed style designs provides extra space for storage. In fact, this style roof creates extra storage capacity just like the old barn style sheds, whose roof had two slopes. One slope is shallow and the other slope is steeper. The walls and foundation are constructed like many other sheds.
Tall Gambrel Shed Style
The extra tall walls of this style provide extra space for storage. You can even park your tractor or any other vehicle in the
tall gambrel barn. It has the total height of up to thirteen feet eight inches and other sizes are available for custom barns.
Livery Shed Style
The center of its roof is extra high to store extra tall item easily. Normally, its door height is six feet four inches but you can always get the door height which suits you the best. Total height of the
livery shed ranges from eleven feet seven inches to twelve feet four inches. Its floor has a great modern modified system through which you can park your truck in or house animals such as horses.
Porch Shed Style
The
porch shed style is a famous style available in four models.
The first one is the peak porch shed which has a steeper roof pitch and comparatively high walls.
The western Porch shed is specially designed to fulfill modern day needs and sensibilities.
The tack shed is the latest design which is the modified model of Tall Peak Shed.
Barn Porch shed is the design which has the quality of extra storage like Tall Gambrel but with an added porch.
Western Shed Style
The main quality of this modern style shed is its roof has a slope. Slope permits the rain and snow to slip downward easily without spoiling the structure of the shed. Its slope rises by 1 cm per fifteen cm of length.
Lean-to Shed Style
It is built on your existing structure which may be a wall or fence as the name Lean -to, describes it. This is a very simple structure and looks like the Ranch Style at first glance. Usually it is rectangular in shape but not always. In fact, its one side is more extended than other, for placing it on an already existing wall or fence. Modern
Lean-to shed styles have four walls and are an independent structure.
Custom Barn Shed Style
It is just like the Ranch Style shed but the main difference among the two sheds is that the
Custom Barns style shed has roof which is divided into four parts. This style actually provides extra space for storage purposes.
