Eating is fun but so is cooking. I found the master chef in me a few years ago and ever since I have explored the different ways of cooking food. It has been and it is quite an adventure. Whenever I travel I want to get to know the food culture of that country and nation and every time there is something that surprises me whether it is a new spice that I had never heard of or a method of cooking. It is exciting and it is addicting! There are, nonetheless, a few cooking methods that have won my heart, mainly because they have something additional to them than just the taste of the meal.

My number one favorite is grilling spicy walnut-parsley-chicken pockets and marshmallows on bonfire. And here it is not just about the food itself, it is actually mostly about the atmosphere and all the aromas of an open fire. Whenever we have got the chance, my family loves to spend an evening by the bonfire cooking, well that is mainly my job, but at least participating in the process, and indulging themselves with delicious bonfire food. Also, we oftentimes sing, tell jokes and stories and just chitchat. I guess the main thing is to spend quality time with each other as a family. Whenever we do not have the chance to lit a bonfire and cook on it, we do the same ritual by our fireplace at home. And yes, it is doable, and actually quite nice on a rainy day! This cooking by a fireplace thing is new though because we got a fireplace installed only three months ago. I guess I wanted to bring the bonfire tradition into our house, too, and that is why I picked up the phone and called Uunisepat. Uunisepat is a Finnish fireplace company, and a very good one that is.

Another cooking method that I love is to make food in an oven. I know that it may not sound super exciting but it is super healthy. This health side of cooking was not on the agenda until my husband was told to drop some weight due to health issues. And I can tell you that it does not get healthier than cooking in the oven some low fat delicacies. I would recommend potatoes, carrots and tomatoes underneath nice salmon filets topped with low fat sour cream and different spices.

Whatever your aspirations in cooking are, make it fun. I made it fun by having a fireplace installed by Uunisepat, and I am super happy with the outcome.
