Difficult Job Situation? When To Say I Quit

When it comes to your job, you have a lot more power than you think. Life, most people would agree, is too short to be stuck in an unhappy career situation they fear they cannot escape. The number one undeniable sanction in your possession- and don't kid yourself- it's a powerful one, is to stand up at your desk and declare in a resolute and deeply resounding voice, "I quit."

All workers, unless they are slaves and under the gun, have this option and if it were exercised by more, many organizations would treat their people better. And don't think your job is not very important or that you are easily replaceable; chances are very good that your company would have to spend a lot of time and money to replace you- management really does not want their staff to quit. They're gambling that you would never want to.

I'm not advocating anything political, mind you; I'm just stating the facts as they are and speaking to you, the individual reader and (presumably) worker. All I'm saying is that you have a choice in life. You always do. You cannot create your choices however; they arise out of your circumstances. But once you make a choice it creates other new choices. Often when we make a choice it very well may require a long, dedicated process requiring patience and steadfastness. But usually such choices do come to fruition.

So take heart. I'm not saying you should necessarily quit your job, though you may end up doing that. What I am saying is that in this life it is your duty and obligation to make choices that are best for you and above all that contribute to your happiness. We should never feel trapped in life, and should remember that there are men even in prison cells now who are far happier than the richest tycoons. Stand up for the quality of your life.
