The mentioned services offer unlimited streaming and that too, at a very affordable rate of as low as $7 per month.

Illegal downloads have affected the physical sales, but the mentioned service providers are working hard to bring back the lost glory of the music studios. In 2011, the digital sales enjoyed an 8% increase as compared to the 5% in the year 2010. The major reason being the digitalization of the music industry, which has paved way for digital downloads.

The digital downloads have outplayed the purchases of CDs and this trend seems to be an ongoing one. With the digital downloads on a high these days, people find it easier to get the job done without having to buy the CD physically.

The major reason of people inclined towards the digital downloads is the price factor. People prefer to go with the online sales, as these are completely free to download. Another reason of high illegal downloads is the vast variety of digital content on offer. When you speak of CDs, you only come across the limited digital content.
