Dining Room Decorating

Whenever you decorate a dining room, you need to compose a compelling place setting

so that your guests are able to focus on their food and conversation, not on being uncomfortable in an empty room. You can use various nick knacks on your china cabinets to liven things up. You can even take a few huge empty soda bottles and fill them with floral arrangements for just a few bucks.

A great way to make a dining room nice is to add some wooden blinds to the windows. Whit is the best color to use, but if you have some other light color that goes with the room they will work too. It will add a nice lightness to the room, and make people relaxed. Adding in some nice artwork will be a good idea. Maybe some lovely nature settings, black and white photos would be a great addition to the room too. Add textures with other items in the room that you use to decorate.

Black and white will come across as a decor that is light and airy both. Adding in glass accents are a great way to bring in a wonderful touch to the room. Get some crystal glasses that you can use for serving too.

If you have some nice silver that has been in your family make sure you put that out and use of nice crystal glasses is another way to add to the overall look of the room.

Another great way to bring in a little more color and warmth to the room is to get some nice rich drapes with a floral pattern on them. If you can try and get something that will help to bring out the amber you've added into the scheme already. Add in some more browns, ambers and corals too. Adding in an area rug is another great idea and another nice thing that will allow some more warmth into the room. If you are getting a rug to go under the table, make sure it will be large enough for the chairs to still be on it when moved back to sit down on.

Remember the black mirror that you added at the beginning? Well, now it is time to add plates and platters to join in synch with that mirror. This wall arrangement can be expanded and reconfigured as your collection grows. On top of the bar you can add a lamp, which in itself will add height and ambience to the composition. It's the little touches that will help you create a dining room you are truly proud of.
