Aelius Galenus or Claudius Galenus (September AD 129) , Galnos, from adjective "", "calm", better known as Galen of Pergamon (modern-day Bergama, Turkey), was a prominent Greek physician, surgeon and philosopher. Arguably the most accomplished of all medical researchers of antiquity, Galen contributed greatly to the understanding of numerous scientific disciplines including anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, neurology, philosophy, and logic.

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, commonly known as Michelangelo, was an Italian Renaissance painter, sculptor, architect, poet, and engineer. Despite making few forays beyond the arts, his versatility in the disciplines he took up was of such a high order that he is often considered a contender for the title of the archetypal Renaissance man, along with his rival and fellow Italian, Leonardo da Vinci.

Pope Leo X was Pope from 1513 to his death in 1521. He was the last non-priest to be elected Pope. He is known primarily for the sale of indulgences to reconstruct St. Peter's Basilica and his challenging of Martin Luther's 95 Theses. He was the second son of Lorenzo de' Medici, the most famous ruler of the Florentine Republic, and Clarice Orsini. His cousin, Giulio di Giuliano de' Medici, would later succeed him as Pope Clement VII

Lodovico Ferrari was an Italian mathematician.

Born in Milan, Italy, grandfather, Bartholomew Ferrari was forced out of Milan to Bologna. He settled in Bologna, Italy and he began his career as the servant of Gerolamo Cardano. He was extremely bright, so Cardano started teaching him mathematics. Ferrari aided Cardano on his solutions for quadratic equations and cubic equations, and was mainly responsible for the solution of quartic equations that Cardano published. While still in his teens, Ferrari was able to obtain a prestigious teaching post after Cardano resigned from it and recommended him. Ferrari eventually retired young (only 42) and quite rich. He then moved back to his home town of Bologna where he lived with his widowed sister Maddalena to take up a professorship of mathematics at the University of Bologna in 1565. Shortly thereafter, he died of white arsenic poisoning, allegedly murdered by his greedy sister.

Saint Joseph of Cupertino (Italian: San Giuseppe da Copertino) was an Italian saint. He was said to have been remarkably unclever, but prone to miraculous levitation and intense ecstatic visions that left him gaping. In turn, he is recognized as the patron saint of air travelers, aviators, astronauts, people with a mental handicap, test takers, and weak students. He was canonized in the year 1767.

Domenico Natale Sarro, also Sarri was an Italian composer.

He studied at the Neapolitan conservatory of S. Onofrio. He composed extensively in the early 1700s. His opera Didone abbandonata to a libretto by Pietro Metastasio premiered on 1 February 1724 at the Teatro San Bartolomeo in Naples. He is best remembered today as the composer of Achille in Sciro, the opera that was chosen to open the new theater of San Carlo in 1737.

Campagnoli was born at Cento di Ferrara. He was a virtuoso violinist who toured Europe propagating the popular 18th Century Italian violin style. He also has a number of compositions to his name - notably:

41 Caprices for solo viola, frequently used by student violists

Nouvelle Mthode for the violin (1827).

A number of Duos for flute and violin. He died at Neustrelitz.
