Lodi road lies what has been dubbed one of the most picturesque green spaces in all of Delhi. Known as the Lady Willington Park during colonial times, the park was renamed Lodi Garden after Indian independence and revamped according to the designs of JA Stein and Garrett Eckbo in the late 60s. On the westernmost section of the garden lies Bara Gumbad which features a square shaped tomb decorated with turrets and is capped by a spacious dome. The interior on the other hand is adorned with mesmerizing paintings and stuccowork while the glazed dome Sheesh Gumbad is known for its beautiful blue tiling. Sikandar Lodi's Tomb in the north-western corner of Lodi Gardens on the other hand houses a wall mosque and a garden within its octagonal shaped enclave.
The Athpula or the eight pier bridge is another must-see attraction at Lodi Gardens as the stone overpass with seven arches and eight piers is a breathtaking sight in itself. Constructed over a small stream that flows across the garden this 16th century bridge was built by Nawab Bahadur during King Akbars ruling period.
