Mendoza City, capital of the province with the same name

, is the most significant over the Cuyo region. With its increasing prestige attributable to its Mount Aconcagua, its Malbec wines, its huge cultural and historical legacy, and its 1st class acommodation, such as the Executive Hotel, Mendoza is one of the most picturesque urban centers in Argentina. Placed on the base of the Andean Mountain Range, the capital city seems an artificial oasis, irrigated by the majesty of Tunuyn and Mendoza Rivers. In order to supply a large irrigation web, these streams have been channeled, keeping the ground in excellent conditions for grapevine growing and harvesting.

The weather in Mendoza is quite warm, although its mountain ranges provide certain grade of aridness to the climate conditions. In summer, the temperature goes to 18 C to 33 C, making the days very hot and the nights fresh and comfortable. When winter arrives the temperatures drop to 3 C or even less. Its ski season and nobody expects more than 16 C during a sunny day.

You can get to Mendoza city by plane, through the international airport Francisco Gabrielli El Plumerillo, by bus or car, throughout national routes 7 and 40.

When visiting the capital, a city tour is the best choice to get to know the history and the culture of Mendozas people, both underlying in each museum, bar, square or public building. With a monumental historical tradition, Mendoza cradles a great deal of memories of San Martins deed throughout the Cerro de la Gloria, el Plumerillo and San Martin Park. Likewise, numerous museums keep carefully every document or proof of the presence of the Father of the Nation in Cuyo region.


However, Mendoza is not merely about history, culture and architecture. In fact, it seems that Nature lives there, turning the city into a departure point for all kind of outdoor activities and adventure sports. Mountaneering, sport climbing, ski and rafting are some of the many alternatives open just a few miles away from the metropolis.

The Wine Route is one of the earliest but constantly renewed touristic attractions this city has to offer. The guests at the Executive Hotel have the opportunity to visit different wineries, walking around their buildings and learning all about the winemaking process. By the end of the tour, the visitors get to savor some of the robust wines, which have made this province worldwide famous.
