Discover The Disadvantages of Many Water Purifier Systems Today

With the ever-increasing amount of harmful contaminants in the drinking water today

, it is important to use a good home filtration system. However, many are not up to the job and can still leave you at risk.

One water purifier disadvantage is the removal of essential trace minerals like calcium and sodium. These help to keep our bones healthy and maintain optimal health.

Distillation and reverse osmosis (RO) systems remove these minerals and also fail to take out many harmful synthetic chemicals like pesticides, chlorine and prescription drugs.

Even the World Health Organization says that everyone should drink water with the trace minerals in to protect their long-term health and well-being. Sellers of the RO water purifiers play down this fact but it is true that your body absorbs these best from water and the sheer amount we drink helps us to get enough.

The other main water purifier disadvantage that I touched on is the fact that many of these systems actually fail to filter out many of the toxic chemicals.

The only type of filter that can effectively do this is an activated carbon block type. What the RO sellers now do is add on a carbon filter to remove more contaminants but there is no need to have both when a simple carbon filter will do!

Another reverse osmosis water purifier disadvantage is that fact that they have low back pressure. As a result, they recover only 5 to 15 percent of the water entering the system with the remainder being discharged as waste water.

This results in RO systems delivering only 5 gallons of treated water per day and discharging 40 to 90 gallons of wastewater a day into the septic system.

This is very poor from an environmental standpoint as the waste water contains many contaminants and increases the cost to you if you have a meter.

In order to gain the maximum from a home filtration system, look for an activated carbon block type with ion exchange and sub micron filtering to remove almost all of the harmful contaminants while leaving in those trace minerals.

You can then enjoy healthy, great tasting water knowing that your health is not at risk and that you are using the latest technology that's efficient to clean your water.

Visit my website below if you would like to learn more about which systems I recommend to use and which to avoid.
