Dish Network Take Back My Locals Please

ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox local networks have continually reported a consistently growing problem

. Every time, I watch my local news broadcast on Dish Network I am aggravated at the reports of Accidents involving Senior Citizens. It seems as though most of our politicians are afraid to lift a finger to stop any of these needless accidents from happening, because senior citizens make up the majority of the voting population.

As much as I hope this is not the truth, I cant help but think it is. I mean why else has there not been a motion made to remove those who cannot drive from the street. We put all kinds of restrictions on our teenagers when they first get their license, and rightfully so. But we do nothing about the elderly who can barely see anymore, do not have the reflexes they once had to avoid an accident, and most of them can barley see over the dashboard of todays automobiles. Guess what they are still on the road driving most of the time in more then one lane oblivious to who or what is next to them.

Then god forbid you beep your horn to let them know you are there, they automatically cut the wheel the opposite way give you an attitude and almost whack the person on the other side. They are becoming more dangerous then teenage drivers. I have yet to hear about a teenage driver running over a father trying to put his child in their car seat, but I have heard of a senior citizen doing it. What I am suggesting is a simple solution, at age 65 you need to be retested which will include a road test, and vision test. If they fail they do not drive. If they pass great they need to be tested every two years the same way with a road test and vision test.

Let me guess you politicians are saying, This is ridiculous, who is going to pay for the testing. It will cost to much to be funded. Well what I say to you is simple; you and all the rest of the politicians are putting the public in danger everyday we do not implement some sort of regulation or testing process on our seniors. How many Mothers, fathers, and god forbid Children have to be hurt or worse for you to grow a backbone and make a stand that might loose you some votes. How many will justify taking steps to make the change worth it? You may be surprised at how many votes you might gain from the rest of us.
