Diversifying Games On A Pool Table
If you bout a pool table or if you play pool often and you are getting bored with the game
, there are many different ways that you can spice it up. There are many different games that you can try to play on your pool table.
The first game, nine ball, is a game that a lot of people have played and has become very popular. Learning how to play the game is not very difficult and it is a great game to play if you are a beginner in the world of pool.
To start, you rack the balls in the correct order. If you do not know how to rack balls correctly, you simple place the one ball in front, the two and three balls in the second row, the three, four and five balls in the third row and finally the six, seven and eight balls in the last row.
The eight ball should be on the opposite side of the one ball. After the balls are all racked correctly, you line up the one ball at the head of your triangle with the second dot on the table so that the balls are in the correct breaking position.
There are some tables that have a mark in the shape of a circle that helps you place the racked balls in the center of the table. If your table does not have this mark you should just make sure that the rack is centered.
The player that is chosen to break then places the cue ball behind the second dot on the opposite side of the table. After placing the ball in the correct position the player then shoots to break the rack of balls.
If the player that breaks the rack and gets the number one ball into a pocket, they then shoot again. When you shoot again, the point of the game is to get the number two ball into a pocket after the number one ball.
You continue to shoot to make the next ball in numerical order into a pocket. When a player shoots a ball into a pocket that is out of order they forfeit their turn and the next player then continues to shoot for the correct ball.
To win the game, the players must shoot the nine ball into a pocket. Some people play saying that the player that shoots the nine ball in automatically wins, while other keep count of how many balls each player has gotten in throughout the game.
If you try playing nine ball and you do not enjoy it or it is not what you were looking for, you can try playing screw your neighbor. This game is a little bit more interactive and gets people playing more competitively.
First, you have to place pieces of paper with the numbers one, two and three written on them. Each of the three players playing should then draw a number out without looking at the number they are grabbing from the hat.
The player that grabs number one is assigned balls one through five, the player that grabs number two is assigned balls six through ten and the number three is assigned balls eleven through fifteen.
The object of the game is to protect the balls that you were assigned. This means that when it is your time you should take the time to strategically plan how you are going to get the other players balls into the pockets.
The player that picked the number one goes first, the player that picked the number two goes second and the player that picked the number three goes third. Your turn comes to an end when you do not get another players ball into a pocket.
When a shot is missed, it becomes the next players turn. If the shooter knocks the cue ball into any of the pockets each player that is not shooting can take a ball of their own from any pocket and put it in the center of the table.
To win the game, you have to have the last balls left on the table. This can be much more challenging than it sounds when you are trying to defend your balls against to other people while also getting balls of the other players into the pocket.
