Diversity in Marketing is the Difference Between Life and Death of A Business by:Jason Pearson
The big mistake that most online businessmen make is holding on for dear life to the search engine traffic
. Search engines do provide traffic to your site, and do help build your customer numbers, however it is not the end all to luring traffic to your site.
Many people will spend ungodly amounts of money on pay per click campaigns, which done incorrectly is just a waste of money. When done correctly it will help, but there are still so many other options available and cheaper. Why spend money to advertise if you do not have to?
Diversity is the key to successful marketing and promotion. By realizing you do not need to depend solely on the search engines, you will open up all new avenues to marketing strategies. Direct mailing promotion, text-link campaign, link exchange campaign, press release articles, and regular article promotions are just a few options that do not depend on search engine traffic.
When you get the ball rolling in these other marketing areas you will see that you will get traffic from places other than search engines. You will no longer be tied to search engine traffic, desperately hoping it can keep your business afloat.
Another common mistake website owners make is creating a website full of valuable material, but it is to long to grab anyone's attention. In this internet era people need short, to the point material that is interesting and have a unique selling proposition. If these important tips are followed you will see visitors converted to sells. Most people do not have all day to read one website when they know they have other sites to visit before they make up their minds on a buy.
Many websites are professionally written, and beautifully designed, but they make the fatal mistake of being extremely long. 'Poof,' their visitors have just moved on to another site. Their material is long and drug out, they are so frantic with their sales pitch, and worst of all they hardly allow a person to read any of their material before their subscription page pops up blocking the website. They portray their business as the needy date that won't stop calling. No one wants to feel pressured or guilted into buying something.
Create a short, to the point website, that is pleasing to the eye, and inviting to curious potential customers. Do not pounce on visitors, but invite them in and guide them to the buy of their life.
