Stereotypically a man tends to do the fixing chores of the home when the light needs changing or a door handle needs fixing

. For centuries the women were the ones who looked after the children, cooked for the husband and made sure the home was clean and tidy. To a degree the women still do the same household roles but the only difference is they work as well.

The job roles havent changed, you dont see very many women working as a plumber, electrician or working off-shore, these roles are normally for the men and it would seem very strange for a majority of women to have job roles such as these. When it comes to the home its always been down to the men to do the handy work as thats the way its always been. The men have experience in fixing and making things because they have been taught by their dads and granddads where as the women have been taught to cook and various other womanly things which men arent always capable of doing.

To be the ideal husband doing the handy work is key to making your wife happy. If she wants something painting, fitting, mending, putting on the wall or anything else which she doesnt have the experience to do then as the man he is expected to do it. There is a lot of pressure on men to be the perfect husband but if it was as easy for a women to do DIY in the house she would definitely do it.

If a woman was taught how to buy the right supplies and fittings, how to use power tools and to measure things up correctly then women would power on and get the job done. The only questions would be how weird would a man find it watching a women do jobs which have always been a masculine thing to do? Would the men find it threatening and as though their masculinity was being taken off them? These are questions which need to be asked. Is it worth allowing the women to take over some of these roles or is it safer and easier to let the men have his bit and the women have hers, then this way both genders are happy and both keeping a piece of their masculine and feminine roles which have always been in place for centuries.
