If you do want to take advantage of the storage that is available from a courier company you will almost certainly have to open an account with them first. Many of the services that go anywhere beyond a simple pick and drop delivery require you to have an account first. If you open an account with a courier company, they will then tell you about all the other services like short term storage that you may have access to know that you're an account holder.

There are some companies that will even include a certain amount of short term storage as part of their basic scheduled delivery service. This certainly isn't always going to be the case but it always a good idea to find out exactly what you're paying for so that you can make the best possible use of it. Short term storage can be a valuable tool in your shipping setup, so finding out if its available from your courier is something you should always do.
