One of the many things that young kids enjoy doing is going on a camping trip with their family or with their friends. It is great way to enjoy nature and to try out those survival skills in the great outdoors. And where could have these skills come from? Probably from one of the oldest and most well-known youth organization in the world, the boy scouts.

Also, this is one of the best places to practice scout fire safety and to use the campfire equipment that has been stuck in the garage for the longest time.

When it comes to camping, safety should be the number one priority of campers. A lot of unpleasant accidents may happen and the most common accidents that happen in a camping trip is a fire related accident. That is why it is important to know and to remember all of the fire safety rules and tips for camping to make sure that everybody will have a pleasant and safe trip and experience.

Here are a few scout fire safety tips that your little scout should remember:

When starting a campfire, make sure that there are no trees near the area of the campfire. Have a lot of space for the fire to burn because if there are any trees near the campfire, the trees may get caught on fire and may be the cause of a forest fire.

Never leave the fire unattended. Make sure that the fire size is always controllable and remember to put out the fire before going to sleep to make sure that the fire does not spread.

Do not ever use a flame or some sort of heating device in the tent since this may get the tent on fire. Just use a flashlight or a battery powered device inside the tent to ensure the safety of the tent and whoever is staying inside.

Make sure to use a flame retardant tent to make certain that it will not easily catch on fire and check that the tent has a decent distance from the campfire to ensure that it will not burn.

When packing and using the campfire equipment, make sure to read all instructions that come with it and never leave it unattended to avoid any major or minor accidents from happening.

Camping may really be an invigorating and exciting trip for any kid but it is always important to be careful all the time. To avoid any fire related accidents, never forget all the fire safety tips and make sure that your kid is always with a responsible adult who knows what he or she is doing.
