You see when you are aspiring to personal mastery it is imperative that you are installing everything you learn on a mind and body that's willing to obtain information. Regardless of how great the leadership program, or how thorough the marketing training or how in depth the private coach explains the personal mastery concepts if you are not ready to acquire what is being given it will become useless.
Personal Mastery and a Dirty Cup of Water
The Buddha says in "The Dhamapada" that , Little by little a person become evil, as a water pot is filled by drops of water... Little by little a person becomes good, as a water pot is filled by drops of water.
Darren Hardy also says that individuals need to "flush out our minds". You see everyday we're bombarded by images of gossip, misogyny, terror or just all out negativity. You can even cut of all that junk out in your personal home and stick to the positive and still be bombarded , on the train, at work, at the gym and anywhere else where there is advertising.
We're hit with more than 2,500 marketing messages every day, thats over 175,000 weekly and we wonder why the late master George Leonard stated that america is in an all out war with personal mastery.
So each time we're hit with these things we better try to flush them out , you are being forced to feed negativity within your subconscious so lets consciously feed it positivity.
Darren Hardy says its like a dirty cup of water, in order to make a dirty cup of water clean you will need to run it under water and allow the pure water flush out the dirty water and subsequently the dirty cup will come to be clean.
Undertake the same thing with your practice of whatever it is you are attempting to become great in.
Personal Mastery Take Aways
So in conclusion in order to improve and become great, you need to do a lot more than reading books on personal mastery, and enjoying audios on leadership and whatever else, you need to plant those seeds on a fertile field aka install your software on a working operating system. You can make yourself more ready to accept the teachings you are trying to apply by flushing out your mind. Every time you put get suckered into putting garbage in your mind, make sure you are consciously and consistently replacing it with positive things. Make your entire life part of your practice. Embrace positivity, and install state of the art software onto your personal operating system.
