Do You Have Faith In Those Speedy Oil Change Places?

A lot of people have no idea or lack enough time to change the oil on their car so they take it to those quick oil change shops

. Still is it possible to really have confidence in these places to change your oil? I propose that you steer clear of these quick oil change places and find a legitimate auto mechanic instead and I'll explain why.

You are probably aware that your car owners manual will give you a break down on what things need to be done after so many miles of driving. Such things as oil changes, air filter changes and other commonly scheduled maintenance. But have you really read the owner's guidebook for your car? I know for certain that your engine oil does not really need to be changed every 3000 miles much like these quick oil change places will tell you. If you study your manual, you'll find that you probably should have the oil changed every 6000 to 7000 miles. So, when you think about this, these quick oil change places are lying to you so they can take your money.

If you study the owner's manual, you'll also see the moment you should get the air filters changed. For my car, it is suggested that these air filters get switched out every two years or when it is clogged up. I have in fact used the old air filter for 4 years and it always looked as good as new but at that point I changed it anyway. But why is it that every time I used to go to the oil change places they inform me I need a new air filter? Six months after I changed the air filter without any help, I took my car to one of these oil change places and they said my air filter needed to be changed. There seemed to be a very slight discoloration and I was told that it was at the first stages of clogging. When I told them that I had just changed it months prior, they then told me it needed to be changed in another six months or so.

The issue I don't understand about that is that at the outset this individual told me it needed to be changed. Then their story changed when I revealed that it wasn't that old. This just illustrates how unethical and evil these folks are.

There was once where they changed my transmission fluid. It seems like they will tell you that your transmission fluid should be changed everytime you visit. On one occasion, when they told me, I allowed them to do it. Three months later on, when I went back to get an oil change, they said the transmission fluid was dirty and needed to be changed again. Of course, that was the last time I went to these bad places.

I don't go to these quick oil change places and instead have found a good mechanic to work on my car. One thing that I discovered is most employees who work at these quick oil change places are not trained to fix cars, they just know how to con people. That's why you are better off finding a certified mechanic.
