Do You Have Subjective Or Objective Tinnitus?

Today young people are commonly listening music using headphones, and many times the volume of the device is rather high. This can cause a significant risk of tinnitus. Of course there are also other sources of loud noises, such as heavy equipments and firearms.

- If you don't wash your ears carefully, there is a risk that earwax aggravate the eardrums. This can also be the cause of subjective tinnitus.

- There are some medications that can be the cause of subjective tinnitus, like aspirin. But there are over 260 different medicines, prescription, or over-the-counter that list tinnitus as a possible side effect.

Objective Tinnitus

Objective tinnitus is not nearly as common as subjective. In fact it is quite rare. The sounds that objective tinnitus produces can actually be heard by a doctor during an ear exam. It has been described sometimes as a sound that beats to the same rhythm as the heart.

That is why it is commonly called as pulsatile tinnitus. This is caused by the variation in blood flow close to your ear or, for some reason or another, the blood turbulence increases around the ear.

Objective tinnitus can also be caused by rhythmic muscle spasms and tumors.
