There are some key tips you need to know that will separate you and your opponent when it comes to how well you'll perform in the cage. If you practice these they will lead you to a victory.
Stay Calm!
The best fighters in the world are the ones who look the most calm and cool during their fights (Fedor Emelianenko, Anderson Silva). During practice do your best not to get too over excited when things aren't going your way.
Part of staying calm can mean that your heart rate won't rise out of control and use up all your oxygen. This will lead you to become fatigued much faster than normal and is common for first time fighters.
Use Your Strengths!
If you are an amazing stand up fighter with incredible take-down defense then use it. Don't go shooting for the take-down, instead work your strengths and win.
However, mixing it up is very important due to your opponent likely knowing where your strengths are and has likely trained for them. Keep your opponent guessing, but destroy them with exactly what makes you a great fighter.
Find an opening and utilize!
Here is where your strengths come into play. Every fighter has an opening. Recognizing them is key.
