Do You Want To Break Free From Boring Brochures? by:Janice Jenkins
Brochures are definitely one of the most popular marketing collaterals in every promotional campaign
. No doubt about it. Brochures have the capability to create sales, which mean an increase in business revenues.
However, for most brochure design that we've come up with, there are a few that did not make it to brochure printing. Or even that it did not become as successful as we imagined it would be.
Why do they fail to draw clients?
For one thing, most brochure designs are so regular and standard, to the point that they become so boring. Often, brochures never make it to the actual brochure printing process just because there was something not so right about it.
It may be the general appearance or the overall appeal. The layout was just too plain and so typical that your target readers have no other recourse but to see your brochure as just another junk mail.
Or it may be that the cover doesn't strike you as something that a marketing campaign should have?
Most business owners make the mistake of disregarding some of the elements that contribute to an effective brochure printing piece. And the cover is one of them.
Taking into account several aspects of brochure design in your cover can make or break your brochure's success in getting clients for your business.
The Cover
In a print brochure, the cover is the most significant part of the whole material. In fact, it's the one that makes your target readers want to pick it up and learn more from the rest of the pages.
That is why your cover should have these 3 qualities: be able to hit an emotional chord, make the client want stop and pick up your brochure, and make your reader want to know more.
Mull it over for a few minutes. Would you pick up a brochure that has a company name and a picture of their store on the cover? Or would you rather have words jumping out of the front page of a print brochure that screams of benefits?
In developing your cover, don't just rest on a compelling picture that paints your message for your clients. Use the power of words to make them want to stop and crave for more information from your brochure. Make them want to grab hold of your print material and desire to know what's inside your pages.
Providing a strong headline in your cover is the key to creating an effective brochure piece. And getting your benefits in the front page would definitely keep your target clients interested in what you have to say.
