Today, lots of people learn & master painting at home. It seems that with the new overflow of technology that most people are becoming more comfortable with learning habits at home, rather than taking a course. I should also make a note of the most famous artists actually being self-taught as well. But the biggest leg up that you have on them is now you have DVD lessons!

Let's face it, time doesn't come by easy when it comes to taking classes. There is also the problem of having different learning levels in a class. More advanced painters will feel like they are waiting forever on the beginners to progress so the class can continue.

After I had taken a learn to paint courses, I felt they were more annoying that informative. I work very random times at my work, so for me it was so hard to be consistent with going to classes. And after finally working out a schedule, I was left frustrated and learning nothing? I felt like just giving it all up. I wanted to learn and master painting, but I wasn't getting anywhere with the classes so I ended up trying to learn how to paint from DVD lessons.I had tried many times to learn from books, but I got my greatest response from visual learning. The quality of the video and the material was simply amazing to me. The author uses a very personal and light kind of teaching, so I felt entertained yet learning the lessons very well. Also I was able to watch the videos over and over again, which helped me out a lot as well. It's true that you don't get any interaction with other students when you learn to paint at home, but its actually turned out a lot better for me this way anyways. I don't know about all of you, but when I pay for lessons, I want the real deal and not chit chat. Some of the art class students treat the classes as an extension of their social life, which reduces the impact of the training for other students.
