Daytime Working Audiences.You'd think YouTube would see a spike in traffic on the weekends and at night when people are out of work but the opposite is true. According to a study conducted by Reel SEO the video sharing giant sees the most traffic between the hours of 2pm and 6pm, or the second half of the standard workday. Additionally most YouTube traffic occurs during the workweek, Monday through Friday. In fact Saturday and Sunday are YouTube's lowest traffic days.

So while we'd like to believe we're all great workers who put our jobs above our desire to watch videos this simply isn't true. Statistically speaking most of your audience is going to watch your videos while they're at work.

You can't count on these viewers to have convenient headphones or private offices or some other way to listen to the content of your videos. This is where captions come into play and provide significant benefits to your video's watchers- even when those visitors speak your language.

The statistics don't lie- captions are a necessity for your online videos.
