Does A Courier Company Provide Packaging Material?

There are lots of people that go to ship with a courier company and for some reason

expect that the courier is going to provide them with everything that they need to package their shipment. In fact, this is very rarely going to happen. Most companies that offer Santa Clarita delivery service don't have any kind of packaging material that they simply provide out of hand to their customers. There are reasons that this is the case, although some companies do have at least some method of allowing their customers to obtain the packing materials that they require.

The reasons that most courier companies wouldn't provide packing materials to their customers can be boiled down to two essential items: space, and time. Space is always needed at a courier company in the vehicles, as the more cargo they can fit into a load, the more money they can make. Similarly, the success of their business depends entirely on how fast they can make deliveries. Space that is consumed and time that is wasted making sure that customers have packing supplies is simply not something that a courier company can afford.

When making the pickups and deliveries along their route, the goal of a courier driver is to get in and out of a location as fast as possible. This is why courier companies always want you to have everything ready for pickup, and why the delivery process essentially has been reduced to scanning a barcode and obtaining a signature. If the courier driver had to make deliveries of packing materials along the way, this would greatly reduce their efficiency.

The other holdup would occur when courier drivers brought packing goods to customers that were waiting for them in order to package an order for pickup that day. Courier companies already fight a constant battle against customers being unprepared with their orders when they come to make a pickup. Delivering packing supplies to the pickup site would only make this problem worse, and cause a domino effect which would slow down all of a courier's deliveries.

If you're really interested in getting your packing materials direct from the courier company, you may be able to find a courier company that sells certain packing materials. These can sometimes be purchased (depending on what you're looking for) and delivered by the courier company. That extra revenue stream helps offset the other disadvantages which were discussed earlier.
