Does Diet Help Acne?

Does Diet Affect Acne?

Does Diet Affect Acne?

Yes it does. Despite some dermatologists that believe the contrary your diet definitely can affect your levels of acne.

The cause of acne is believed to be related to the level of toxins in the blood. If your blood toxicity is too high for your vital filtering organs to handle, then the body has to resort to alternative methods of excreting them, otherwise the toxicity of the body will build up.

Therefore the body excretes the toxins through sebum glands in the skin, which clogs the pores up and allows for a great place for bacteria to grow. It is this bacteria that gives you the nasty looking red lump and spot on your skin.

Each person has a different internal environment largely due to his/her genetic makeup and also because of environmental factors. Because of this each person handles and processes food in a different way, which is why some people have allergies and some are fine. The real issue is that there are so many possible iterations of what type of food could be causing the outbreaks that its very difficult to pin point. Whats more, there are factors other than food that could also be causing it. So in total, we have a plethora of possibilities.

If youre combating acne, Id recommend you head down to your local doctor and ask for a blood test. You might have to qualify the need for one, so just say youre feeling tired. This will give you vital information about your blood and what it contains. You can then use this information to test removing certain foods from your diet and analyzing the results.

OK, so what about water?

Speaking from personal experience and that of other members of my family, I can truly say that drinking water does help my spots. I used to have the habit of drinking one pint of water every morning when I wake up to flush out toxins. Now, my acne is pretty much cured so I dont need to worry about doing it any more, but Id definitely recommend that acne sufferers try this approach.

The science behind from a high level sounds simple. Acne is caused by excessive toxicity in the blood and therefore your body has to try and excrete these toxins through the skin otherwise the toxicity of your internal environment may get to high and result in some form of illness. Drinking water can help flush out toxins thereby reducing the workload for the vital organs.

You can also try adding a bit of lemon or some kind of citrus fruit to your water. Many say that this helps alleviate their acne, although personally Ive never tried it myself so cannot testify to its effectiveness.

One thing is for sure though, acne, diet and water are all related and any dermatologist who tells you otherwise needs to open his / her eyes. There are simply too many cases whereby a modification to the diet has improved or worsened acne that to my mind there is no doubt. Proving it on the other hand, thats a different matter and one that I cannot comment on.

There are plenty of similar treatments you can do that involve drinking water; some recommend hot with lemon, the Chinese recommend herbal medicines. When I had acne, I experimented with the lot, and I finally found what my problems were. I hope you can do the same.
