Is he messing around, or does he think that you're a keeper? Have you been burned by players in the past? Would you like to know how to play it smart, and find something that lasts? While nothing can really let you read his mind, there are some ways to find out if he thinks you're a keeper or just the girl for now.

If you are still on your first few dates, keep things light. Sometimes, it is easy to fall into that phase of getting so excited about someone that you just can't seem to wait to try to get serious. But, no matter how well your dates have gone, rushing into things can be a mistake. Get to know him a little better first.

Try to slow down. Keep things easy. If a guy is really serious, he will start dropping hints pretty early on that he is looking for something real. Give things a chance to develop, and you won't be the one who has to do all the work to make the relationship happen.

If you have been seeing each other regularly for a while, don't let things drag on. If things have been going nowhere for weeks or months, don't just hang on and hope that it will start making progress. You can ask for what you want, and tell him how you feel. If you want to know if he feels that you're a keeper, you might just have to ask.

It is actually much better to come out and tell him what your hopes are. This is preferable to dropping hints, and letting yourself get into a pattern of nagging half-statements. It doesn't have to be a heavy talk. You can tell him, "I've really been having a great time with you. I want to stop seeing other people. How do you feel?"

Does he stay in close contact with you? If he is serious about you, he will take the initiative to get in touch. If you are always the one to make contact and make plans, then take this as a warning. If he thinks you're a keeper, he's going to work to keep you, so judge whether he is making the effort.
