his SUV to every carwash in Fort Worth, leaving large amounts of loose change inside the vehicle. Money was taken about 33% of the time. At some carwashes Kinkade left a girly magazine on the front seat and crushed beer cans under the seat to appear "out of the mainstream". Then money was twice as likely to be taken and more money was taken each time. Mainstream or not, when we go to a carwash, we need to "change" our behavior.

Diabetes diagnoses are still increasing. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, from 1995 to 2010 there was at least a 100% increase in diagnoses in 18 states and at least a 50% increase in 42 states. In the South obesity levels have steadily increased and the South has had some of the highest increases in diabetes - with Oklahoma topping the list at 226%. According to the Journal of Preventative Medicine, 42% of Americans will be obese by 2030. Considering obesity is a major risk factor for Type 2 diabetes, Americans have to stop "weighting" for a magic diet pill.

Global warming may increase pollen counts. A 2012 report presented to the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology was based on allergenic plants grown in climate chambers modeling future conditions, such as weather patterns and changes in precipitation and temperature. Pollen counts averaged 8,455 in 2000. According to the model, they are expected to reach 21,735 by 2040; and the pollen season will start earlier each year. It seems as carbon dioxide levels increase, allergenic plants produce 3-4 times more pollen; and that pollen is expected to be more potent. For allergy sufferers this information is "nothing to sneeze at".

Among the toys passed over this year were plastic green army men. Next year they may lay siege on the Toy Hall of Fame.
