Does Milk Really Do Your Body Good

Do know exactly what is in milk? Well, producers market it as being a good source of calcium, Vitamins A and B, carbohydrates, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, and protein. However there is a whole other side to this substance that we aren't told about. For starters, milk also contains 59 active hormones, a laundry list of allergens, fat, cholesterol, herbicides, pesticides, dioxins, antibiotics, blood, pus, feces, bacteria, and tons of viruses. Now, I realize that I probably just really grossed you out, but it was necessary to make a point. Besides, this doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

The real kicker about milk is that, in terms of nutrients, its totally useless and I'll explain why. First of all, its the magnesium in plants that cows eat that allow them to absorb calcium. However, the cows milk doesn't have enough magnesium to enable humans to absorb any significant amount of that calcium. In fact, it only has enough magnesium to enable us to absorb 11 percent of the calcium. Thus, milk is a useless source of calcium. Next, milk or meat protein leaches calcium from the body. So whatever calcium was absorbed from the milk is consequently extracted by the protein. So I ask, what is the point of drinking milk?

Besides that, if humans, like cows, can obtain all the nutrients needed by eating plants why not eliminate the middle man, or cow, and go straight to the source, which is vegetables? If we need calcium and other nutrients why not just have a bowl of broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, or seeds and nuts minus all the unpleasantries.

Nature is trying to tell us to get a clue. From lactose intolerance to mad cow disease its on the bull horn telling us to stop the madness. As difficult as I thought it would be, when I became vegan, giving up milk and dairy was easy, especially as I became more educated about the truth about it all. So since that day, over 14 years ago, no more cream cheese or yogurt for me and away with the dairy-laced baked goods and ice cream. I decided to free myself from the shackles of this commercialized cup of lies, break my addiction of this liquid crack cocaine, and start life anew that was dairy-free. To date, I have absolutely no regrets. Life has been simply fabulous without milk and freeing myself from it has definitely done my body good.
