Does Reverse Phone Lookup Google Work?
The first thing most people do when they see a number they don't recognize is type it into Google
. This used to be a definitive way to discover who owned a phone number quickly, easily, and absolutely free. However, free reverse phone lookup Google just doesn't work too well anymore.
Today if you type in a phone number into Google, you are probably going to get a list of sites that list a ton of phone numbers, including the one you searched. Nothing definitive comes up in the results. When you click on the link, you get virtually no information about the number. Thus, free reverse phone lookup Google is simply ineffective most of the time.
Why It Doesn't Work
Today most phone numbers are either unlisted or they are mobile numbers. Almost no one today uses a land line for residential purposes. Everyone has cell phones. Even businesses that have landlines do not advertise their land line number, especially if they are a telemarketer or collection agency. Since these numbers are all unlisted in any common directory, Google cannot find them as easily as you once could find numbers.
The best you can hope for when entering a number into Google is that you will come up with a site with the information you need, available for a fee. Paying the fee will get you all the information that this particular directory has on that number, including the carrier and location of the number. However, oftentimes even paying for that information doesn't get you a name.
Other Options for Finding the Owner of a Number
Since free reverse phone lookup Google doesn't work anymore, you need other options.
1..Mobile phone directories
2..Reverse lookup fee sites
3..Scam or Offenders Lists
Sometimes if you are getting telemarketer or collections calls from a number you can find the owner of that number by searching scam or offenders lists. These are lists of numbers that people have submitted complaints about. You may not find out the owner of the number, but you will at least be able to discover what type of business it is.
If you are looking for a mobile number, you can sometimes find it on mobile phone directories. Occasionally some of the mobile phone carriers offer a reverse lookup on their site, through which you can find the owner of a number on their network. The problem with this method is that you have to know who the carrier is, and not all carries offer that feature.
Oftentimes, your best bet for discovering the owner of a number is a 'pay for' service site. You have to be careful which sites you use, however, because not all of them provide the most accurate information. Sometimes the sites that charge the most are the least accurate in the data they provide.
Whatever means you use to look up phone numbers, you will quickly find that the other methods out there are more efficient and effective than free reverse phone lookup Google searches.
