With such an array of beauty goods on the market you can easily be forgiven for not knowing where to turn to get the right products

. If you turn to your friend and ask her for advice its easy to get the wrong product because it is more than likely that what looks good on her will not suit you. This is as true for make up as it is for clothes. The problem about this is that especially with make-up you can end up spending a fortune buying products that are advertised well and look perfect on the model but dont do the job you want them to do when applied to you. Nearly all women will report that they have spent far more money than they care to think about on cosmetics. Usually this is on cosmetics that they have never used or have tried once and abandoned. If you go and look into the makeup bags or top dressing table drawers of most women, you will probably see an amazing amount of products, most of which will never be used.

The difficulty with make-up is that it either works or it doesnt. This is not quite so true of clothes. If you make an expensive mistake buying the wrong dress or outfit there are several ways in which you can put this right so that at least you can wear the item and get some value, even if it was not for the original purpose or event. For example, you can take a dress to a seamstress and have it professionally altered to fit you. If you are clever with a needle you may be able to do this yourself, with a few nips and tucks or letting out seams and the dress can fit in all the right places. The right make up will complement the look further. You can also sew on different materials such as bows, sequins, buttons and ribbons to brighten up a dull outfit. You can accessorise with jewellery, a nice hair cut and make up and no-one will notice any imperfections in your dress.

Not so with getting your make up wrong. No dress, outfit, belt, jewellery shoes or handbag is going to bring your make up to life. Your face is the first part of you that people will notice and its important to wear good quality make up that looks good and will last.
