Does Your Pet Have A Sixth Sense?

If you have ever owned a pet like a dog or cat you probably had those feelings that your pet "can read your mind"

. Dogs especially seem to be in tune with humans. I know I had a dog who seemed to know when I was feeling sad or happy. I'm sure other pet owners have had similar feelings. Do animals have "psychic instincts" like many humans claim to have? Of course the skeptics say no way but those with pets will argue and the debate will continue on.

People have long been talking about their pets special talents. Not just pets but animals in general. David Letterman recently had a dog that could dance the mamba with her owner. Oprah had a dog that could do math problems apparently.

Researchers have been studying these phenomenons for a long time. Biologists actually study pet psychic abilities. Ever come home out of nowhere and it seemed like your dog knew it the whole time? Many of these researchers believe there is something to this and are things we do not yet understand about our furry friends.

Areas of unexplained perception in pets.

Sixth Sense: This includes sensing things before they happen or knowing whether or not someone is going to have an epileptic seizure. It's believed that the animal detects a unique scent right before it happens, or experiences a sensitivity to magnetic fields, however these are just starting to be identified and studied.

Sense of Location: This is the way they can find people at locations whether they are alive or dead. The story of Lassie tells us how dogs can travel long distances and eventually find their masters. There has also been stories of close relationships between the dog and his owner. The owner passes away and the dog finds his master in the cemetery.

Then you hear stories of people who claim animals can talk to them. From a horse in seventeenth-century France that allegedly compute numerical calculations and keep his master from harm, to birds who can ask to be fed when hungry, the theory that animals can masterfully use speech to achieve a goal is another that is tricky to prove true.

Many have gone so far to challenge some of these stories and theories, but there are not many studies to for sure say whether or not its true that pets are telepathic. If you have had pets or have one now you probably already made up your mind on some of this discussion and how your pet friend understands communication. And for most of us who own a dog or cat know that just because these theories have yet to be proved doesn't mean they its not true either.
