Online donations is convenient and paper free. No passing the plate or walking to the front of the church. It's just easy. Naturally, fewer cash transactions means reduced costs involved in managing cash with fewer opportunities for errors.
Giving online could lead to increased revenue and reduced costs associated with handling cash. When you donate to your church or ministry online, you can prefer to have that donation automatically repeated every month. This would be a set amount each month. Maybe you can not give $500 at one time, but you can give $41.67 per month. This can be done one time with the click of a mouse. It's automatic.
Sometimes members and vistors forget to bring their checkbook and if you are like me, you rarely have cash. When they get home they could still make a donation by going to your website and giving with just a simple click.
Buttons
In order to increase revenue by accepting online donation you must have a Give Now or Donate button somewhere on your site. It should not be buried and visitors to the site should not have to search for it. Place these buttons in red and on the homepage. Preferably, top right hand corner.
Payment Processors
In order to allow donors to give to your ministry you must be setup to accept payments. Nothing is more frustrating then to go to a website to give and there is no donation button to accept payment. That is leaving money on the table. What will happen is that person that wanted to give will just give up and go to the next website. You organization receives nothing.
