Don't Forget Father's Day
Father's day started through the initiative of a certain lady named Sonora Smart Dodd. She was on a church one Mother's day morning listening to the priest sermon about how wonderful mothers are. This is absolutely true, Sonora thought, but that sermon also compelled her to also appreciate his father. Sonora's father raised her and her five other siblings after her mother died due to childbirth. Her dad took the mother and father role. Soon enough, Sonora was making a petition to allocate the third Sunday of June to be a day where the world will thank their Fathers since June is also the birth month of her Father.

Sonora suggested that everyone should wear roses on that day which makes roses the official Father's day flower. The petition was acknowledged and the first Father's day took place in June 19, 1910 in Spokane, Washington. Mother's day was celebrated was celebrated first as it was first celebrated in 1907.
It may be difficult to remember Father's day because it comes after Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. June is also a time when people are busy with summer and the coming school semester. You really have to take a note of it on your diary or Outlook Calendar. Father's day should not be forgotten.
And what better way to celebrate Father's Day than to give your dad the perfect dad's gift? Your dad may appreciate the socks that you gave him over Christmas but it's a very generic gift and he has probably received this gift a hundred times or so. Taking a time out of your busy life to find the perfect gift for your dad will be highly appreciated. After taking a time out to buy the gift, take more time out to present the gift personally to your dad.
Here's my top ten list on how you can show your Dad how special he is:
1. Try purchasing a good quality photo album or digital photo frame. You can now scan or take family holiday snap shots and have it displayed in your dad's room or the living room. This can be a great gift if you want your dad to remember all your happy days.
2. Prepare a nice and tasty breakfast in bed. This would be a very nice surprise especially if you don't live your dad and he will be totally surprised to wake up and see you inside his room bringing him breakfast.
3. Spend some time with your dad cooking his favorite dishes. If he loves cooking, then this would be a perfect time for him to perfect his skills.
4. Buy a gift that your dad will not usually buy for himself but would be glad if his children thought of it like silk tie or a nice pair of cufflinks.
5. Let your dad watch TV without interrupting him. Prepare him his favorite snacks and watch him out. Remember to avoid pointing out that "it's just a game."
