Don't Want any Scrubs, Especially the Ugly Ones
Don't Want any Scrubs, Especially the Ugly Ones
Working in the medical profession can be a rewarding career choice. You can help those in need. Provide healing to those who are sick. Bring people back from the brink of death. And help bring new little people into the world. Being a nurse (RN, LVN, or CNA), physician, surgeon, surgical technician, physical therapist, or phlebotomist requires that, while on the job, you wear scrubs.
Scrubs can either be hospital issue, or they can be purchased at a Wal-Mart or a local uniform retailer. There are those that shirk convention and decide to wear their own style of scrub. They don't want any scrubs with the name of the hospital stamped all over them. They are not able to choose whether or not they wear scrubs, but they feel that they can at least choose what is on the scrubs.
Another important part of the hospital (medical center, medical facility) uniform is lanyards and badge holders. The badge holders keep the hospital issued ID secure and waterproof, and the lanyard keeps the badge holder in a visible, easily accessible locationaround the neck. Now, having to wear scrubs is bad enough, but now you have to wear lanyard and badge holders that are hospital issue and plain!
Well, there is good news. You can customize both the scrubs and the lanyards and badge holders, and create a whole look that will have patients smiling.
Prints
You wouldn't believe that number of scrub uniforms that come with totally awesome prints. You can have prints of your favorite cartoon character, your favorite flower, tie-dye, the names of your favorite banks, nifty swirling pattern--you name it, it's been put on a scrub. With all the different choices of patterns you face when ordering your scrubs, you should also put a little thought into your lanyard and badge holders. Do you prefer beaded lanyards with personalized bead patterns? Do you want the same character that's on your scrubs represented on your lanyard? Do you want a bright and sassy color that matches your scrubs, all your scrubs, so you can wear the lanyard no matter which set of scrubs you're wearing?
You now have so many choices to make
Plain
Do you prefer to wear the less optically obtrusive uniform? Or do you prefer calm colors over loud splashes of pattern? Are on the understated side? Whatever your preference, you can still pair your uniform with a beaded lanyard in calming blues, refreshing greens, and pristine whites. Or you can make the beaded lanyard as bright as you'd like. It's all up to you! .
Both
If your tastes run to both the print and plain sides of the scrubs line, you can still accessorize with lanyards that match a particular set of scrubs, or the sum total of all the scrubs in your closet. Being in the medical field is a big responsibility, and making sure that you adhere to hospital uniform policies in importantbut that doesn't mean that you can't spice up your look with a chili pepper pattern on your scrubs and a fiery pair of lips on your lanyard.
