Don't be forced into a vehicle against your will!

Can you think of a more dangerous situation than being forced against your will into a strangers vehicle? It can happen in a blink of an eye and is a common practice with predators. The truth of the matter is that if a predator can get you into a vehicle, he will more than likely be able to succeed with his evil intentions and even more heartwrenching, if it happens to a child the odds of that child ever being seen again are slim. Authorities have always claimed that if a child is taken to a second location then the possibility of recovering that child unharmed or at all is not very good.

I have a few helpful pointers that I want you to commit to memory, they might help you to avoid this from ever happening and if it should, then you will know what to do.

First and foremost, "BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS!" This means, for instance, if you are loading groceries in your car, look around you and be cognizant of anyone approaching you. Look them in the eyes so that they know you are aware of their presence. Keep in mind that when you do any kind of shopping at night you should always park close to the entrance and in a well lighted area.

HERE IS WHERE IT GETS SCARY: WHAT IF SOMEBODY ACTUALLY GRABBED YOU AND STARTED TO FORCE YOU INTO HIS OR YOUR VEHICLE?

Some people would recommend that if the aggressor had a weapon then you should comply with his wishes, this decision is truely subjective of course but knowing the dire consequences involved in this type of scenario, I personally would resist! HERES HOW:

If you can't escape by running then you should become dead weight! Fall to the ground and let your attacker struggle with trying to pick you up. Remember, he will normally only have a few seconds to succeed with his intention of getting you into the vehicle, if he can't do this in a reasonable time he might be inclined to flee the scene. Along with falling down, its very important that you scream at the top of your lungs, "HELP ME, THIS IS RAPE!" over and over.

If he succeeds in carrying you to an open door, spread your arms and legs so that he can't push you through the opening. Push off against the door frame with your legs. This will buy you valuable time and hopefully others around you will come to your rescue.

As a parent, you should discuss these techniques with your children, they should yell out "PLEASE HELP ME, THIS IS NOT MY DADDY!" Teach them to use their arms and legs in the same manner.

It is worthwhile to remind you that predators scan for those people who are oblivious and unattentive to their surroundings. This gives them the element of surprise. DONT GIVE THEM THAT ADVANTAGE!

Lastly, give yourself an extra edge in self protection - consider carrying aPEPPERSPRAY on your keychain, they are an effective weapon and always at your fingertips.
