"One of the most often overlooked and simplest ways to add instant warmth and just the right amount of ambiance to any room in your home can be as simple as tweaking or adding just a few different levels of lighting."

She went on to suggest that task lighting is necessary in bathrooms and the best place to situate mirror lighting is on both sides of the reflective area, rather than above it.

Also, when people are choosing bulbs, they should go for the "warm" type, rather than bright and cold.

Ms Franklin went on to point out that for more natural light, it can help to install skylights.
